">Whats up folks. Got a few things happen over the past few months that you may not have heard yet. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a comic book artist. I intentionally squashed those dreams when I went to college, I decided it would be best if I broadened my knowledge base and learn as much about art as I could.

I was at Phoenix Comic Con this past May and was introduced to a number of great people and from those meetings, you will be able to pick up my first professional COMIC BOOK work. Spazdog Comics asked me to do a cover to their tribute book to the Smiths; it will be debuting at the Tucson Comic Con this November. Spazdog is a regionally distributed company, but I will have copies of the book to ship. Additionally, I will have some work coming from Moonstone Comics later this year. One project I can share now, the other I have to wait a little bit longer to release. The first is a book written by the man of a million ideas, Eric Esquivel called Thor: The Unkillable Thunder Christ. It came about from a blog post he made describing his take on Thor. I dug it. The description was visceral, rough, very un-Marvel-like. I got right on drawing my version of that description, and he and his editor loved it. From there I was asked for a pinup and potential variant cover. You can see the fruits of that labor in the Comic Work section.

As is often the case, one thing leads to another and I was contacted to do a potential cover for one of Moonstone's most popular books. It was approved after a few minor changes about a week ago, and I will post up the cover as soon as I have word I can do so, shortly after SDCC. I'm busting at the seems with excitement.

There are other projects in the works with these and a few other companies as well. I'm excited where this new route is going, and happy to be back doing illustration and now....comics.

Here's to the future!

Hot damn!!

http://www.jasonpedersen.com/1/post/2011/07/first-post.html

http://www.jasonpedersen.com/1/post/2011/07/first-post.html#comments

Uncategorized

I've been saying I was going to do it for a while, and I finally got around to it...updating my site. I felt like the old one was getting a little cluttered, and I like something a bit more simple. In the process, I switched site developers as well. I liked Homestead, don't get me wrong, but they were pretty expensive. They have some great site development tools, but are geared more toward an eC [...]

<div  class="paragraph editable-text" style=" text-align: left;
